Non-Fiction Book Proposal Consulting
Let me help you bring your book into the world!
I help non-fiction writers with their book proposals, whether they’re stuck on a specific part of their proposal (that damn overview) or want support and accountability the whole way.
I love working one-on-one with writers. If you’d like to learn more about my services please email me at email@example.com. I’d love to help you bring your book into the world!
Coming February 19, 2018– Join my online book proposal writing class
We will meet virtually as a group once a week until March 26, 2018 (the calls will be recorded if you can’t be there in person) to cover every aspect of the book proposal and query process, and you’ll have support and accountability the whole way. Call-by-call we will deconstruct the pieces of a book proposal, set realistic deadlines, commiserate over the difficulties of writing (ha!) and, of course, I’ll be on hand to answer any and all of your questions about book proposals and the world of professional writing. I’ll even provide you with copies of my book proposal and query letter for “The Yellow Envelope,” as well as a number of other handouts and will personally review and edit your completed proposal.
If you’d like to sign up for the course click here. You’ll be sent to a payment screen. After making payment will receive a welcome email from me.
If you’d like to set up a quick call so I can answer your questions, email me.

A few testimonials from satisfied writers
“Kim provided encouraging, yet constructive, feedback on my query letter and book proposal. She not only highlighted areas that needed improvement but provided ideas for solutions. She made a complicated process easy.” – Kristin Owens
“I had no idea where to focus when starting to write my book. I didn’t know what to do first and it was paralyzing. Kim’s advice about how to start writing my book proposal was informative, practical, and easy for me to follow. She gave me a step-by-step plan on where to begin and insight on the best way to get my book proposal ready. I really appreciated her willingness to answer all of my questions, big or small. She also shared great strategies for how to build my platform in the way that will best support my proposal. Thanks, Kim!” – Anna Lively
“I found Kim on the internet while researching how to write a book proposal for narrative non-fiction. I’m a complete novice to the process and needed in-depth consultation while I wrote my proposal. Kim has been absolutely fantastic. She’s both kind and thorough, and I feel like I’ve grown as a writer since working with her. Her suggestions have been on point, and by focusing on the arc of the proposal, she’s helped me reshape the arc of my narrative into something I’m far more proud of now. I highly recommend her services, and thank her for her thoughtful and intelligent guidance!” – Heather Sommerlad
“Kim has been a tremendous help to me throughout my proposal process! Initially, I was inspired by her blog post that described the methodology she used when writing the proposal for her first book. Once I started writing and piecing together my own proposal, I knew she would be the perfect resource to provide feedback and insight. She is an accomplished author who knows how to take the reader on a journey and understands what agents and publishers are looking for.” – Christine G.
